Windows Installation¶
This page gets you set up on Windows. You don’t need to be an expert — every command on the pages below is something you type into PowerShell and press Enter on, and each one is explained in plain language as you go.
JuSPICE needs Python 3.12 (a specific version of the Python programming language) to run. Both paths below use a tool called uv, which downloads Python and all of JuSPICE’s required software for you and keeps everything tidy in one folder — you won’t need to install Python separately first.
Pick how you’d like to install it:
Install Everything at Once
One block of commands that sets up every JuSPICE feature — every image-analysis method, deep-learning model, and file format, plus IOPaint and NASA MicroNet — in one go.
Step-by-Step Installation
Install a small core first, then add exactly the optional features (deep learning, IOPaint, MicroNet, Trackpy) you actually need, one at a time.
Troubleshooting¶
If uv or python aren’t found, an unsupported Python version gets
picked up, or an install command fails partway through on either path
above, see Windows Troubleshooting for a
step-by-step recovery procedure.
