Meijering¶
Another Hessian-eigenvalue-based filter for curvilinear structures, originally developed to trace neurites in fluorescence microscopy. It combines the Hessian eigenvalues with a different formula than Frangi’s, giving it somewhat different sensitivity — in practice it often responds better to faint, thin, low-contrast filaments, which makes it a useful complement to Frangi when the structures of interest are subtle.
