Temporal / In-Situ and Operando Imaging¶
← Back to Key Imaging Techniques
Any of the other techniques can be repeated over time to capture a process as it happens rather than a single static snapshot — for example, SEI growth under AFM, particle coalescence during SiO2 lithiation under SEM, or crack propagation during operando cycling. The result is a time-ordered sequence of frames (or a video) instead of one image, so downstream analysis must account for frame-to-frame correspondence and temporal trends alongside the usual spatial structure.
